Known issue October 2025: white screen (resolved)

Affected time period: Wednesday 1st October 2025 between 10am and 11am

Status: resolved

On Wednesday the 1st of October 2025, Educake experienced a brief technical issue which resulted in some teachers and students not being able to access the website.

Students and teachers who used Educake during this time might have seen a blank white screen rather than the Educake website. We sincerely apologise for this issue.

We fixed the problem straight away, however you might still see the blank white screen if your browser is still trying to use the broken file from Wednesday. Here's how to fix this:

If you're still seeing the issue on a computer, hard refresh your browser

On a Windows computer:

  1. Open the internet browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, etc.)

  2. Hold down the Ctrl key and press the F5 key at the same time

On a Mac computer:

  1. Open the internet browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.)

  2. If the browser is Chrome or Firefox, hold down the Command (⌘) and Shift (⇧) keys, and then press the R key.

  3. If the browser is Safari, hold down the Command (⌘) and Option (⌥) keys, and then press the R key.

If you're still seeing the issue on a mobile phone or tablet, clear your cache

In Chrome (on Android and Apple phones and tablets):

  1. Open the Chrome app

  2. Tap the three dots menu icon (⋮)

  3. Go to Settings

  4. Tap Privacy

  5. Tap Clear browsing data

  6. Make sure the box for "Cached images and files" is checked. You can uncheck the other boxes if you want.

  7. Tap the Clear data button

  8. Reload the page

In Safari (on iPhones and iPads):

  1. Open the main Settings app on your device (the grey gear icon)

  2. Scroll down and tap on Safari

  3. Scroll down Clear History and Website Data

  4. Tap Clear History and Data

If you use a browser or device that isn't listed above, contact us and we can help you hard refresh or clear its cache.

If that hasn't worked, contact us
