Staying safe online

Online privacy and safety for students

Who can see what I do in Educake?

When you're online, it's important to be mindful of who can see your activity.

In Educake, teachers at your school can see your answers to the quizzes that have been assigned to you. They can see what time and date you answered each question, in addition to the comments you send if you query a mark, and any self evaluation you leave at the end of a quiz. They can also see the last time you logged in to Educake, and what your username is.

Other students can't see your work or your scores in Educake from their accounts.

Parents do not have access to Educake, but your school might choose to share Educake reports with them.

Some people who work on the Educake platform can also see your activity in Educake. Educake only keeps track of what you do within Educake - we can't see your activity outside of Educake.

How can I keep my Educake data secure?

Educake keeps your information secure and private. You can read about how we do this in our Student Privacy FAQ. There are also steps you can take to keep your account secure:

  • Make your Educake password as strong as possible. Make your password at least 8 characters long. Use a mix of upper case letters, lower case letters, numbers, and special characters. Don't include personal information, otherwise someone might be able to guess it.

  • Keep your login details private. Don't share your username or password with your classmates. They're an important part of keeping your account private.

  • Log out when you're on a shared device. If you use Educake from a computer, tablet, or mobile that other people use, log out when you're done.

  • Don't save your login details on a shared device. When you log in to Educake, your browser might ask you if you want it to save your login details. If you're on a device that other people use, say no.
