Why isn't Educake syncing with my MIS?
How to make sure your Wonde setup is working for your school
If you're syncing your Educake classes using Wonde and you don't see your new classes for this year, there are a few possible reasons.
1. Make sure all your subjects are linked
Your MIS might use slightly different names for subjects than Educake does, or split them up differently. For example, you might have separate subjects called English Literature and English Language in your MIS, but there's only one subject called English in Educake.
To check this, go to Manage Classes with your MIS:
In step 2 on the page, check each of your subjects. Click on "Click to change" and add any subjects that you have in your MIS that aren't currently selected. For example, this school will need to add Physics and Biology:
2. In Wonde, Make sure your classes have a subject
In order for Educake to be able to retrieve your classes, each class will need to be set up with the following information in Wonde:
-
the class’s subject should be in the subject field
-
the class’s academic year should be in the academic_year field
-
the class’s year group should be in the year_group field
We will not be able to read the subject, academic year, or year group properly if they are in the description field. Your school's IT department or the Wonde support team (support@wonde.com) are the best people to contact about this.
3. In your MIS, make sure the academic year has started
The dates of your school's academic year are specified in your MIS. These are pulled through to Wonde, and Wonde will only send Educake your data once your specified academic year has started. If you're not seeing any information in Educake, check your school's academic year. Your school's IT department can help you with this.
